Fashion doesn't get more physically minimal than tattoos. A huge fan of body art, I have two of my own and am always on the lookout for more. I recently read a statistic that half of adults age 18-35 have tattoos. That is quite remarkable and makes me wonder what workplace dress code etiquette will look like within ten years? As an aging generation of anti-tattoo Baby Boomers moves into retirement, I predict tattoos and body piercing will not be as frowned upon given over half of upcoming employees have them.
I recently discovered a tattoo idea website called Tattoo Shortlist where visitors can virtually check out different tattoo designs before hitting the actual ink. All images are actually inked so there are no surprises.
"The main idea behind the site is to allow people to search a vast array of tattoo designs on the site so they get inspiration for their next tattoo idea or first tattoo inspiration." -Tony, CEO Tattoo Shortlist
Offering custom designs and weaving social feedback directly into the site, Tattoo Shortlist definitely has the special sauce that makes visitors want to hang out for a while and actually surf the images, tattoo ideas, and information. I personally am on a quest to find a bird design, specifically a Cardinal. I would like something a little tribal and certainly unrelated to the St. Louis Cardinals baseball logo so I tested the site out for myself. Tattoo Shortlist provided a lot of great inspiration and I made sure to rate my discoveries and now follow the site on Twitter. It was super fun and very helpful. If you are one of my fellow 50% body art enthusiasts - check it out!
