Minimalist living enthusiasts everywhere appreciate spending time, not money, which is why I bring you this blog today. Author Barb Kitz has kick-started a campaign to bring her manuscript to Hollywood and needs backing from people like you. Grounded in emotion, not materialism, The Snowflake Scissors will bring readers to tears as they discover a story about loss, learning, and letting go.
Over twenty years ago, after my younger sister died in an automobile accident, I wrote The Snowflake Scissors. During the course of grieving together, my young daughter taught me a beautiful lesson on loving and letting go that inspired this story. My sister, Jeanie, was an exceptional snowflake artist. On the day after her funeral, which was in a February sleet storm, I opened my eyes to a brilliant blue sky and sunshine. But, it was snowing. Big. Fluffy. Snowflakes. Out of a clear blue sky. I knew, immediately, that she was telling me she was okay. I need support to bring this story of love and miracles to life.
That means taking the manuscript to Hollywood, where I will be hiring and bringing together an awesome team of creative people, book-to-script-adaptation writers, designers and the right producer(s) to sell the project as a made-for-TV movie. And you can be part of the process every step of the way!
With just $1,300 to go, Barb and her team can get on that plane and make movie magic happen. Drop by her Kickstarter crowdfunding page and purchase the right to name a character! What a unique holiday gift for a child as we approach December! I find this entire campaign creative, unique, and authentic - very minimalist! We at Home of Wealth wish Barb the best of luck as she helps us all realize that Christmas stories are not all about toys and excess.
