The first thing he tells me is that he's old. The first thing I wonder is, "How does he keep that mop attached to his chin...Gorilla Glue? Duct Tape? Focus Tracy."
Jokes aside, Skip Budman is a force of nature. Dedicated to the cannabis lifestyle, he has "hypothetically" (strategic use of air quotes) been using marijuana for over thirty years. I follow the cannabis debate within the United States closely and am on the side of legalization, so when I heard what Skip had to say through his website, Weeds that Please, I knew he was different.
I began this website because I started growing and could not believe how hard it was (2002), to find great info on how to do it (in one place). So I took a year and a half while I created about the first 58 pages with all my own photos and content - before going 'live'. Now it will be 9 years old in 2015. We try and help a lot of people in as many ways as we can. This website has turned into a blessing - who knew? I remember EVERYONE telling me I was crazy for starting this website with all my talents, at my age, what are you thinking?, etc. I laughed. It has been a med for me personally for over 30 years now. I take pride in what we personally do and much disgrace in what others have done to this miraculous God given medicinal plant. The only flaw in this PLANT is MAN (IMO).
Skip and his message exist on a different frequency of life. His dedication is clear and his arguments are strong. I was particularly struck by the fact that marijuana is 100% natural and yet we as a society treat it as smuggled goods, why hadn't I considered that before? Skip offers this instead:
I am one of those Cannabis loving, pro-legalization people that you have been warned about. This is ME, doing my best to educate and make truthful information available to the sick senior citizens, military veterans and others, while protecting YOUR Rights to live a longer and healthier life as you see fit.
Skip isn't promoting the concept of getting high, he is promoting freedom, wellness, and compassion in a manner that helps marginalized American citizens. Our fallen US veterans and the elderly cope with health conditions 99% of us will never comprehend. I see major value in providing them with unrestricted pharmaceutical alternatives.
So while you may have thought my commentary would remain centered on Skip's psychedelic effect on your brain, I would much rather focus on Skip's charitable effect on your heart.
